We've been growing fruit and vegetables at Ryefield Farm for over 25 years. The shop started as a summer stall selling our own soft fruit. Today it's open all year, stocking our own produce alongside a wide range of food from local farms and producers.

Pick your own

From the end of June until September, you can pick your own fruit straight from the field. Strawberries come first, followed by raspberries, currants, and gooseberries and later fruit. Picking depends on the weather and the crop, so check our Instagram or Facebook, or message or call us on 01463 819899 before you come.

Prefer to leave the picking to us? Ready-picked fruit is available in the shop throughout the season.

From the farm kitchen

Every day we bake brownies, gingerbread, quiche and focaccia, and make fresh soup and a range of salads Take away a freshly ground coffee, hot chocolate or tea. Or try our fruit ice cream, made with Orkney ice cream and our own frozen fruit.

Everything is to take away. Customers are welcome to use the seating outside the shop and in our polytunnel.

What you'll find in the shop

What's on the shelves changes with the seasons, but typically includes:

• From our farm: strawberries, raspberries, red- and blackcurrants, gooseberries, plums, apples, tomatoes, and vegetables, and our own apple juice

• Local meat: beef, pork, venison, lamb and mutton, plus butcher's pies and haggis

• Dairy and eggs: local cheese, milk, yoghurt and eggs

• Bakery: local bread, biscuits, oatcakes and tablet

• Groceries: a huge range, including pasta, sauces, chocolate and snacks, with gluten-free and vegan options

• Store cupboard: preserves, honey, flour, oatmeal, and ground coffee and beans

• More fruit and veg: local vegetables and potatoes, and a selection of fruit and vegetables from further afield

Bring a bag

We try to cut down on single-use plastic wherever we can. Please bring your own bags, or use one of the boxes we have in the shop.
